How would you describe the band if you were a pressman or an
editor? |
A powerful Hammond-led soul-jazz instrumental quartet, Horizon 22 fuse 60s Blue Note Hammond organ grooves with film soundtrack atmospherics.
Why did you choose your name? |
I'd like to say it was because of the Blake's 7 fanzine of the same name but the real reason is even cheesier than that. But what that is remains a secret.
What type of music do you play? |
Hammond-driven soul-jazz, we play original tunes and a growing selection of Blue Note covers and film and TV themes.
How long have you been together? |
3 years
What have you released to date? |
None
When are you planning your next release? |
March 2004
What is your favorite song to perform and Why? |
Favourite original - "Dovetail Joint" as it is a truly joint composition, has elements of Shaft, Herbie Hancock and Booker T and yet very much our own sound.
Favourite cover - "Starsky & Hutch Theme" as always, always rocks.
Who are the best bands you preformed with? |
We supported Jamie Cullum at Jazz Cafe a year ago, but even better than him was the first band on called Waranoid T - weird name, crazy guy, great showman. And really nice people in the band.
