Their high artistic standard and unstoppable energy have made them one of the country's finest brass ensembles. Synergy's touring schedule has brought them across the United States including performances at major music festivals such as Ravinia and Tanglewood. Always striving to reach new audiences and bring new listeners to classical music, the Synergy Quintet brings audiences a wide variety of music, ranging from the early Renaissance to the Modern to Jazz and Rock. Synergy dedicates time to the education of young musicians. Whether through workshops, masterclasses or school shows, the Synergy Brass Quintet is always using their talents to help tomorrow's musicians and bringing their passion for music to the next generation. |

How would you describe the band if you were a pressman or an
editor? |
High-energy ensemble redefining the brass quintet genre with one foot in the Classical world and the other firmly planted in Rock and Contemporary music.

Why did you choose your name? |
It's based on the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. As you know chamber music is a team sport...
Also because Synergy Quintet is a blend of Traditional, Classical, Modern, and Rock.

What type of music do you play? |
We play classical music in the traditional brass quintet setting (e.g. Canadian Brass, Empire Brass) However, Synergy Quintet being a group made up of gereration Xers... also moonlights as an Alternative Rock Band. Fun

How long have you been together? |
1996

What have you released to date? |
We just release our first CD: "TRANSMISSIONS, vol.1" was released on Aural Assult Records January 2004
|

When are you planning your next release? |
We are recording a CD of new works with internationally aclaimed composer Samuel Adler March 2004. It will feature Synergy Quintet performing new compositions for Quintet, Chorus, and Organ. It will be released on Paracleat Records later this year.
We are scheduled to release our next CD "WATERMUSIC" before the summer of 2004. It will feature music from the Baroque and Renaissance.

Who are the best bands you preformed with? |
We usually perform solo recitals but we have been called in on occasion to open up for other groups. Two of note would be the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and the Empire Brass.

Where are you planning for your next shows? |
Our next show is at the TSAI CENTER in Boston, March 15, 2004. We will be performing a concert of new music composed for us by Boston University faculty and Alumni.
